System Modifications

This section contains conventional methods that are grouped together to form major system building blocks. Most of these were devised in all or in part by Rob Forster. The list currently contains the following system pieces:

  • 2/1 Non-Forcing - A new approach for 2/1 bidding geared primarily toward systems with light, limited openings.
  • 2-Suited Weak 2s - A change in the use of the 2-level for weak hands. The new approach allows for more frequent preemption.
  • Overcall Structure - Methods for overcalling opponents' opening bids with distributional hands.
  • Silent Club - A modification to strong club systems allowing for better constructive auctions with intermediate C-oriented hands... you just pass them in 1st or 2nd seat.
Also worthy of consideration here is the major structure from Seismic Club, which can be adapted to a standard opening system by altering the point ranges of the responses.
