Kayles

Kayles is another example of a combinatorial game. On your turn, you may knock out any one pin or any two adjacent pins (on your first turn and only then, you may pass). The player to knock out the last pin wins. If you are using internet explorer and can't see the game, you might need to allow active content by clicking the info bar at the top of the screen.

When you move the mouse over the game, a green circle will follow the mouse. To make a move, click the left button. Any pins that meet this circle will be taken. To toggle hints, press the "h" key (make sure the applet has the focus). When hints are on, a red square will appear in the corner, and the target circle will turn red whenever a click represents a winning move.

To change the maximum number of pins or the probability that any given spot contains a pin, press the right mouse button and drag. Dragging vertically will change the max number of pins, dragging horizontally will change the probability of a pin occurring in any gien slot.
